Scooter News

I’ll be able to get a new scooter through Medicaid. The scooter I’m using which they found in the basement hasn’t been manufactured in years and you can’t get parts for it anymore .

On top of that, the battery is dying.

You really don’t want to go more than four or five blocks with it.

The OT guy who will help me through all the Medicaid paperwork and pick the scooter with me says I’m eligible for a good one (I won’t list all the ailments but there are enough to get one of those electric wheelchairs if I want) and they are better in a lot of ways, but I like the feeling of the scooter, it feels like driving, and the armrest acts as a good tripod for my shaky hands.

I guess it might take a while, not really sure. OT guy is off for Labor Day but he says he’s found a dealer that will come into the city on a Saturday, which is when he’s here. So I’ll get to try a few different ones outside the Castle/

Hoping to get it before this one dies completely.

The thing with the batteries is that they can only be charged a certain number of times.

In the meantime, I’m getting out more since getting the scooter and starting to take pictures again. Nothing great. But I can get shots of the park at dusk that I could never get before because of the new proximity.
