Roosevelt Island

Roosevelt Island

Today I begin two days of infusions. I seem to be better one day, and worse another day. I really don’t know how each day qill be, but in the middle of this Virus, I have so many friends who at least I can facetime with.

Weird, that I am closer with my friends and sisters and yet only see them thru Facetime etc.
In the Assisted Living world we get notices as another resident gets it. I think we’re at 5 now who are in the hospital.

Do the caregivers (formerly called blue coats) have the right protection?

No. No. No.

At one point they were using garbage bags.
They are given one mask per shift. Some have the surgical masks, which prevents them from spreading the virus, but the lucky few have one N95 mask which filters the virus in the air they’re breathing.

And you have to realize, the same Aide may see 50 people, one at a time each day.

Temps are taken of the workers coming in. But it is not failsafe.

Nursing homes and Assisted Living (here) should have already been able to test everyone in the place.

Oh yeah, we’re the greatest testers in the world.
