To write about one thing when I get up but something else always happens first.

I’m sound asleep when something heavy lands on my left foot.
That’s the one that’s been swollen and twisting to the right for the last few days.
I say:oww and the CNA picks it up and puts it on my right ankle.
Then he disappears for about an hour.
I try for a half hour to shake it off the right foot, and it’s hard because I’m under two blankets and a sheet because it is freezing in here.
Both windows are drafty.
In the middle of the night one of the kinder aides pulls the shades down and tries to keep them from blowing with the heavy candy jar. And a foot protector filled with cleaning tubes.

I press the call Bell. An hour later another aide walks in with breakfast.
She turns off the call signal (there’s a green light that goes on when the call Bell is rung) and is very nice and cracks the eggs for me and opens the butter packet and squeezes it into the porridge.
Anything else I can help you with?
No, thanks.
Then after breakfast the aide that dropped the linen on my ankle returns.
Don’t ever wake me up by dropping the linen on my ankles, I say.
Oh, I’m sorry. Can I change you?
No. I’m dry. Just empty the urinal and then put a sweatshirt on me.
After he empties the urinal and returns it, he starts looking through the hanging shirts and shows me a tee-shirt.
No. That’s a tee-shirt. There’s a sweatshirt in there.
I saw it yesterday.
He holds up each piece of clothing until he shows me the sweatshirt.
So that’s what I’m in now.
After I warm up I’ll go back to the story I began writing yester day.
BTW, I raised $250 in ten dollar donations to PayPal, and had a wonderful lunch of chicken fingers and fries all – thanks to you guys.

Glad to hear you have some cash to enjoy decent eats for a change. Let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help.
Do you read much? Would Amazon gifts help you get some ebooks you’d like? Or paper books?
I always look forward to your posts. Keep writing, my friend.
